I thought my day at Coyote Hills couldn’t get any better: THREE burrowing owls – one of which was COMPLETELY unexpected – AND my first “real” bald eagle sighting in California?? Then we got to our cars, which were a little bit apart from each other, and as I was packing up my stuff, I looked up to see a Great horned owl in a nearby tree! Yes, folks, twice in one day *I* brought an owl to the attention of the owl guru! To be fair, the owl wasn’t visible from her parking spot. Once she made it over to my spot, a second Great horned arrived! What a great ending to a great day! If you’re counting (I was!) that was FIVE OWLS in one day!
You probably don’t want to hear this, but a BARN Owl swooped over the fee kiosk on the way out. 🙂
