Turkeys

Still no real photos for you, so I’m posting stupid cell phone pictures. A couple days after I got home from Charleston, I walked into the kitchen one morning and sensed movement in the backyard, where I was surprised to see two or three wild turkeys strolling about. It’s common to see them in this area, but I’ve never seen any in our yard, which is fenced in. As I was watching, an entire flock of them one by one jumped/flew up onto the gate then jumped down into the yard, until there were about a dozen of them.

Gomez was super interested in the turkeys and stared at them for about half an hour. Mark said he was probably thinking “breakfast!”, but not only do I doubt a cat would think something that is at least 10 times its size is food, Mezzie is a friendly boy and probably wanted to befriend them.

I went outside later in the day and the turkeys were gone, but found they had left behind a lot of turkey poop – cool!
