Northern harrier

These photos of a female Northern harrier were taken from the Chimney Rock trailhead parking lot, before I’d even set off on my hike. Was I ever off to a great start to my visit that day! Look how she’s looking right at me in two of these! I just adore that piercing raptor stare!
