It’s my dear friend, Duke’s, birthday today! He’s Australian so we are on rather opposite schedules but we still talk just about every day.
It’s also American Thanksgiving! We are having our close friends Brad and April, who moved to the Bay area about the same time we did, over for dinner.
And back to the birds. The owl guru was very excited about this one, which she identified as a loggerhead shrike, so for once I’m not going to be all hesitant about labeling a bird.
