Golden Eagle

The owl guru, Sharon, is really quite amazing at finding birds. We were walking along in Brushy Peak Regional Park last week when she pointed out a minuscule brown dot a million miles away and announced, “I think that’s a golden eagle”. And she was right. I have no idea how she did it. As you may be able to tell from the horrible quality of these photos, these were taken with my 400mm lens and then very heavily cropped: this bird was really far away. I will say, though, that if you are looking for golden eagles, Brushy Peak is a great place to find them. I’d only seen a couple in the wild before this, so I was excited.
