The other weekend I hit up the Tomales Point trail in Point Reyes National Seashore, which is my absolute favorite place to go, but because it’s nearly 2 hours away, I don’t get there as often as I’d like. It’s SO worth the drive though. I complained for a long time after arriving in California that I didn’t see as many coyotes as I should, in fact, for a long time I saw zero coyotes. I think I saw a bobcat before I ever saw a coyote, which is kind of crazy. Every time I went to Point Reyes I’d encounter someone ELSE who had seen a coyote, but I was always too late. Until one day I wasn’t, and then I think every single time I’ve been there since I’ve seen one. Point Reyes is teeming with coyotes! I saw this one while driving in and pulled off the side of the road to photograph it.
