A kestrel seen in Del Valle Regional Park. She was very shortly after this photo was taken frightened off by a child who kept repeatedly screaming at the top of her lungs, calling for her brother, who had gone off ahead of his family. I admit I was more annoyed by this than I should have been. I should have been happy this family was out together enjoying nature. I’m sure they are all lovely people. But I really, really wanted that girl to shut up and stop scaring animals away. I’m a terrible person. However, this kestrel is very beautiful. I’ll try to be a better person.
