On Christmas Eve I decided to go on a quick jaunt to Pacific Commons Linear Park, which is a really weird little park near Fremont that according to ebird is a raptor hotspot but which I just find very strange. But it’s pretty close to my house so I gave it another chance. I did see a few raptors, though nothing amazing. Here is a kestrel on a post:
I did startle a jackrabbit (startling rabbits is really not hard to do, I’ve found), who took off right in front of me and then ran to this gate, where he sat down and tried to decide if he should go through it. I don’t know why he had to think that over, though he eventually went for it. Brave bunny.
