The other weekend I visited the Elkhorn Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve, which I was happy to learn I could get into free using my CDFW Lands Pass, which I was rather thinking hadn’t been worth the money as I’ve only used it once before that day. Anyway, Elkhorn Slough is known for having otters and I didn’t see otters, which was a big disappointment, but apparently you really need to be in a boat to see them – preferably a kayak. So next time I’ll be kayaking!
