I am trying to get better at bird identification. As I take on more responsibilities at the wildlife hospitals, I’m going to NEED to be better at bird identification as I will sometimes be doing intakes and exams at one of them. It helps a little that I’ve been feeding a lot of baby birds this spring and summer, but I have a long way to go. When I’m processing my photos I usually spend up to 5-10 minutes trying to ID birds I don’t know, though sometimes I’m either too busy or too tired (I’ve been known to fall asleep processing pictures before). So I’m going to go out on a limb here and say this is a house finch, and I expect Sharon to correct me if I’m wrong.
Ha! Have I been a bit overzealous in my “assistance”? Anyway, I agree with House Finch.
Yay, I was right for once! And no, you absolutely have not been overzealous – I need all the help I can get!
