Sibley Volcanic Regional Preserve

For some reason or other, I haven’t been to several East Bay Regional Park District parks in the Oakland/Berkeley area. I’m really not sure why I haven’t made it to them, other than I guess I always expect traffic to be an issue, although it’s really not that big a deal. I finally made it to Sibley Volcanic Regional Preserve for the first time the other week. Sibley is one of the three oldest parks in the EBRPD system, so I thought it would be fun to go just a couple days after checking out the very newest EBRPD park. Sibley is the site of an extinct volcano called Round Top and I don’t know why I waited so long to go there because it’s very pretty and I’ve added it to the list of parks I think will be good to take out-of-town visitors to.
