Cooper’s Hawk

I have made a decision regarding this blog, which is I am no longer going to make daily posts. Queuing up posts felt like a chore and not only do I not have time for unnecessary chores (I barely have time for necessary chores), it led to ridiculous stunts like posting nearly the same castle picture for 10 days in a row just because I wanted to schedule a bunch of posts in advance so one would publish every morning. I’m sorry I subjected both of you readers with that. From now on I will only post when I actually feel like doing so and when I think I have something worthy of putting out there. I may go back and post some more (non-castle) pictures from my recent European trip, but tonight I am sharing some pictures I took today. I attended a wildlife conference in San Luis Obispo this weekend and as I’d never been there before, instead of driving straight home to the Bay Area this morning, I decided to do a little exploring. I visited Montana de Oro State Park in Los Osos. It was foggy, misty, and chillier than the forecast had led me to prepare for, but it was also extremely beautiful, peaceful, and wonderful. The Pacific Ocean is so much more dramatic and beautiful than the Atlantic! I will likely also post some pictures I took of Spooners Cove, where I watched the waves for a long time, but today, in honor of the wildlife conference that took me there, here is a Cooper’s hawk.

Three cheers for blogging in the way that works best for you! Rest assured that I loved all the castle pics, they were great… but the blog feeling like a chore isn’t so great. Post what you feel like sharing, when you feel like it (and when it fits into your busy life) – I’ll always be happy to come see what you had to share whenever one of your posts pops up in my reader (and that holds true for both this and your other blog, as you most certainly know already!).
