It’s Fogust here in the Bay Area. Although visibility on the trail wasn’t compromised very much, the thick fog obscured what the internet tells me are some pretty incredible views in Purisima Creek Redwoods. That’s okay; the fog is kind of why I chose that park because redwoods look cool in fog. However, it was raining under the tree canopy in certain areas due to the fog: actual huge drops of rain, not just a light mist. Fortunately those pockets were few enough that I didn’t need to break out my rain coat or protect my camera gear.

I thought this tree was really cool. There was a great horned owl hooting (not from this tree) while I took this one, but I couldn’t find it.
