This is unrelated to the photos below, but the day before I went to Mori Point, I woke up in the morning and as usual, ate breakfast while reading a book. I had finished a book the night before and started a new one that morning. For some reason, the book I was reading was Four After Midnight by Stephen King. This is a bit weird because the last time I read a Stephen King book was probably when I was 12 and I’d read all the books in the library and had to resort to reading whatever my parents had around the house. But I’d purchased the Kindle version on a whim a few weeks prior when it was on sale for $1.99. The first story of the four in Four After Midnight is The Langoliers. I read a bit and then headed off to the farmers market. The path I took into the market was right by the band, and as I approached, they launched into a rendition of Angel of the Morning, which is a song I haven’t heard or thought of in years…but which figures prominently in The Langoliers. SPOOKY.
Anyway, I have no particular love of Angel of the Morning, or Stephen King – I’m pretty ambivalent about both of those things – but I’ll tell you what I DO love: California produce, California farmers markets, California parks, and California views! (Angel of the Morning was probably stuck in my head when I took these, though.)
