Last weekend was a bit warmish here in the Bay Area; not unbearably hot, but warm enough that I wasn’t wild about heading out to a lot of the East Bay regional parks, most of which are very open and get very hot in the summer. But I needed to get out of the house for a hike to start to make up for the month I’d spent being too busy to do so. So I looked at Google Maps, contemplated my options, and eventually settled on Mori Point in Pacifica, because Pacifica is basically a constant 60 degrees year-round, and because Mori Point has been on my to-do list for a while. One of the primary reasons I wanted to do Mori Point was for its wildflowers, and I thought late July would be too late for any flowers, but there were actually quite a few, which was a pleasant surprise. Plus the beautiful California coastline is always a mood booster, which I desperately needed that day, which had started off with a bit of crankiness related to a fruitless search for a store that sold propane and propane accessories.
