I’m kind of stretching blog posts out here, as I warned I would. So I was standing around in 100-degree weather in Lafayette, being not that excited by a phoebe and a towhee – nowhere near as excited as I had HOPED to be by an exciting something else – and it was now rush hour and I didn’t want to just go home. Somehow I managed to convince the heat-adverse owl guru to come JOIN me for all this non-excitement. So while she was on her way, I went walking up to downtown Lafayette, deciding to walk to Whole Foods and get a snack – and enjoy some nice cold A/C for a few minutes. As I walked along, I saw this cat:
