The drive to and from the main entrance of Coe State Park is long (about half an hour from 101) and full of hairpin turns. This is typical of a lot of California parks, and a lot of fun if you like driving, which I do. I like it when they provide turnouts so you can stop and take pictures. I drive tiny cars and sometimes I don’t trust the turnouts if it’s a big drop from the tarmac because I’m scared of not being able to get back on the road, but most of the ones on this road were okay and I stopped a couple of times. Pretty, eh? I feel very fortunate to live near such beauty.
