The owl guru and I went owling in Middle Harbor Shoreline Park the other day. We didn’t see any owls, and she warned me in advance the park wasn’t the most “aesthetically pleasing”, but the weather was super warm, we sort of saw a peregrine, and it was pretty interesting looking at the shipping containers and thinking what a huge – literally – undertaking it is to deal with that sort of thing. And the very next day an article on the vast importance of the Port of Oakland showed up in my news reader.
