I attempted to stop by Trader Joe’s on my way home from Del Valle the other day but was repulsed by the crowded parking lot and thus ditched the idea. However, I was treated to a rainbow over Castro Valley while driving home, which made up for my aborted grocery mission. This was taken from the car while I was waiting at a traffic light. Today is my Aunt Lynn’s birthday. This is a good photo to commemorate that because she called me a few weeks ago, worried about me because I am an EPA contractor and she’d been reading the news about all the crap going on with the EPA. Unfortunately I probably ended up making her worry even more because at the time I was feeling very down, and in fact she said as much, that she wasn’t used to hearing me sound like that as I am usually upbeat. Things have only gotten worse for the EPA – and the country – since then, of course, but I called her a couple weeks later to tell her I was feeling better, as I didn’t want her worrying about me. And I will be okay, even if I end having to find another job. Sometimes it’s harder than other times, but eventually I always get around to seeing a rainbow even if I don’t get what I want.
