There is a nesting pair of bald eagles at Del Valle Regional Park but the nest is infuriatingly hard to find. I had some conflicting intel on its location and after failing to see it in one suggested place, returned the next day to look for it in another. I STILL haven’t seen it but I did later talk to a USFW guy who gave me a hot tip on an exact location to go, though unfortunately I haven’t had time to return and the eaglets will be fledging soon so I guess I’d better get my butt over there ASAP. If only I wasn’t currently working about a million hours a week. Sigh. Anyway, the good news is Lake Del Valle has some lovely scenery even if the eagles are hiding.
