I always found it a little strange that a place as built-up as Northern Virginia was also horse country, and as it turns out, the Bay area is as well. It’s not unusual to come across a horseback rider in the parks around here. Alameda Creek Regional Trail is actually two trails along either bank of the creek: one is paved and one unpaved. Horses are allowed on the unpaved side and here is a rider taking advantage of it.
