My best friend, Fortinbras, has finally moved back to LA from Baltimore, at long last putting us at driving distance from each other again…though it’s kind of a long drive. But a 6-hour drive between us is better than a 6-hour flight. He drove up to visit us the other weekend and we went hiking every day he was here. His favorite place by far was the same as mine: Point Reyes. I took him to the tule elk reservation. Here is a red-tailed hawk we saw:
