My previous two posts showed you the valley floor of Alum Rock Park. Next I climbed up to the ridge (which is basically what you DO in California parks), and then things got real California real fast. The tree cover gives way to an open trail and suddenly there’s a sweeping view of just miles and miles and miles. This is the sort of view you DON’T see in Northern Virginia!
You can’t really see through the haze in this photos, but I assure you I was looking down at San Jose and could see for miles. The pictures do not do the view justice at all.
