Non-bobcats things seen in Marin Headlands

I mentioned that when I first started my New Year’s Day hike in the Marin Headlands that I thought the trail looked really boring. Little did I know how elated I would be a couple hours later! Here are a couple of shots from near the beginning of the hike, when it started to get rather pretty.

The Golden Gate Bridge does this thing where, if it’s not foggy, it just suddenly LEAPS into view. I was hiking along and not really thinking about the bridge, though I’ve shot pictures of it from Hawk Hill not too far from where I was before, but it still took me by surprise when I caught a glimpse of it:
aaaaand suddenly the Golden Gate looms into view-2

Then I walked 10 more feet and BOOM – there it is, larger than life:

The Golden Gate Bridge: it’s not a bobcat, but it’s okay.
