Redwood Regional Park is somewhat unusual in that there aren’t many redwood forests in the East Bay, which makes it special and a particularly inviting location for this tree-loving East Coast transplant, who is growing more accepting of the open spaces the Bay Area calls parks but still likes a change of pace from big, brown, barren hills while hiking. This park is especially wonderful when it’s warm out (as it was yesterday) as the open-space East Bay parks get very hot under the sun. Here are some of the redwoods:
