When I was compiling a list of good places to go for wildflowers a few weeks about, the Mitchell Canyon area of Mount Diablo State Park came up. Mitchell Canyon also ended up on the owl guru’s radar about the same time due to the bird action there. So the two of us met up a few weeks ago to check it out. You may remember a couple of weeks ago when I was posting pictures from my visit to the Mount Diablo summit and I said to make note of a certain formation. Well, here’s why: I found myself much closer to it – and looking up at it instead of down on it – in Mitchell Canyon.
