There are some birds I see with certainty every time I go to Del Valle Regional Park: acorn woodpeckers and kestrels come to mind as being omnipresent there. I don’t believe I had yet seen Western bluebirds there (which doesn’t by any means mean they are uncommon there, just that I haven’t really been there that many times). Bluebirds are of course cheerful birds and I need all the cheer I can get these days, so this was a nice encounter.
